So if you are one of those active people that follow me on Twitter or Behance, you will be aware that I did a project a while back on Behance. This project was possibly one of the most fun projects I have worked on over the last 2 years, the main goal was to design 50 logos of my own choosing, and challenge myself to one idea a day.
Every morning I would wake up, make myself a coffee and reach for my favorite A5 sketchpad. From there I would start writing basic keywords for a company name, once I had one I really clicked with I would rough very basic shapes to connect with the logo, and before you knew it within 5 minutes I had a base for a logo design. This is still my process to this day too, I would say during the entire series the most fun part to me, was the fact that from the initial idea to the finished logo everything was my creation, I had nobody to have to approve roughs and give advise for the direction, it was all on me.
Since doing this project it has given me a new direction in my art, I now have a special kind of love for logo design and am always looking for new ways to simplify a logo to it’s most basic shape.
I do have a few logos in this collection that I love so much that I do not think I would ever sell them to just anyone no matter the price, I would have to know they are going to be marketed just right to be successful brands. One of the logos for example has been sold to a DJ called Boomslang who is ever growing as an Artist, another was sold to an astronaut who is employed by NASA, so yes I want these logos to go to great homes.
